Nestled in the valley below Europe's highest mountain,
Mont Blanc, Chamonix is a town unlike any other ski
resort in the world.

The Chamonix valley is divided into 3 main towns - Chamonix,
Argentiere and Les Houches - all linked by regular free
bus (which takes 10 minutes from Argentiere to Cham).
Chamonix is chock-full of mountain people; there is
nowhere else in the world home to such a concentration
of seriously good riders of all nationalities (mainly
French, Swedish and British), and this is reflected
in the great bars, restaurants, shopping, and cosmopolitan
nightlife.
Argentiere, at the foot of the Grand Montets ski area,
is pretty chilled out, with its own community and bars
such as the Office and the Rusticana serving up great
food and laid back atmosphere. More and more people
are choosing to live in Argentiere, so the seasonaire
vibe is great, and access to Cham town is very easy.
Chamonix itself has too many great drinking, eating
and partying holes to mention them all - for chilled
beers try the Cybar, Terrasse or Bar de Moulin, for
food, try Munchies or Goofy, for a big night out, head
for the Jeckll and to party hard go for the South Bar,
Chambre Neuf or the Garage. Chamonix is a real town,
busy all year round - be warned - many many people fall
in love with its charm and never end up leaving.

Along the Chamonix valley are 4 main ski areas - Les
Houches, Brevent-Flegere, Grands Montets and La Tour.
All of which are an off-piste heaven - with unlimited
unmarked terrain (as well as plenty of pistes!). For
experienced riders there is no other place in the world
for steeps, powder, hiking, and meeting other like minded
mountain lovers. Chamonix is home to many of the world's
best skiers and boarders for good reason. The mountains
are to be respected, but they're definitely a place
for exciting challenges - for going bigger, harder,
better. And it's not just about riding the powder -
the whole town has a unique atmosphere and whatever
your sport, there's plenty of it and plenty of people
to play with.
