If you want to know what it's really like, there is
no better way than hearing it from the people who've
done it. Their best bits, worst bits, funniest bits
...
"No amount of words would do the
season justice ... It would be safe to say that this
season hasn't lived up to my expecations, it's blown
them away!" (Scott, 23)
"You should be happy in the knowledge
that in the past 2 months I have had some of the best
times in my life. It was a true pleasure to have met
you all and without you I am sure I wouldn't have done
anywhere near what I have. Thank you - you are all very
good friends and I look forward to seeing you soon."
(John, 26)
"I had the best three and a half
months, cheers." (Frankie, 26)
"Cheers for an excellent season"
(Andy, 26)
"Hmmm ... what to say ... Arriving
the first night with nothing to eat that day except
a baguette at lunch and going straight to the pub ...
It went downhill from there! ... Becoming addicted to
the powder rush ... powder, kickers, grabs, 180s, riding
switch - I think I've done what I wanted to do - and
more! I'll take home good memories, leave behind good
friends ... but there's always next year!" (Rob,
31)
"I'm just dropping you a line
to thank-you for the last 10 weeks. I had a fantastic
time and my objectives for the season (see my profile)
were definately met. I would recomend Planet sub-zero
to anyone with the spunk to do a season!!!"
(Pete, 39)
"Cheers guys, Again thanks for
providing an excellent experience for us it was amazing
and I cant wait to do it again soon!" (Paul,
25)
"It's been fookin' marvellous
- loved every minute! Some of my best ever memories
have come from spending a season in Les Arcs with you
guys. I've met wicked people, and made some really great
friends. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of
people to live with. I've achieved more than I thought
I was ever capable of doing on a board - the seed is
definitely sown. It would be safe to say that the season
hasn't lived up to my expecations, it's blown them away!!...
Les Arcs itself is a great resort with a strong community
vibe. The off-piste is excellent, as is the guiding
(thanks Steph & Tony for sharing your playground).
My greatest achievement is constantly falling on my
arse on the first day, then landing my first 180 2 months
later ... the chalet is great and a lot more luxurious
than I expected it to be ... Cheers for the best 4 months
I've had ... I'll be back!" (Scott, 23)
"Easily the best 3 months of my
life" (Jess, 18)
"When people signed up for the
season they've already got something in common, so I
wasn't that surprised that everyone got on. What did
surprise me was that I met people who became my family
... the laughs ... the mayhem ... Whilst it's all about
the snow, it's the chalet people that make the season
rock! ... The chalet is perfectly located - ski area
vast and brilliant. Over the last 3 months I've become
the fittest and healthiest I've ever been. I've had
to put 2 extra notches in my belt and I've had that
belt for 6 years ... Things I love about the season:
Nice tan # Apres ski - being drunk at 7.30 pm and feeling
like you deserve it # Being fitter, leaner, meaner,
keener # Being able to experiment with different facial
hair (!) # Falling in love (at least 10 times!) # The
Alps - what a view, what a place - you've just got to
love it # Cheap smokes # Flying down the mountain with
all your mates # Birds at the supermarket smile at you
when you come in # Hey, what rush? the season lasts
ages # Interaction with people of different nationalities
# French people are cool! # Nailing my first kicker
... I couldn't snowboard when I got here, but I've since
found out that I've got an ability to teach people (as
long as they're attractive or I like them). I am the
Irish Miagi .. focus, concentration - give me the desire
and I'll give you the snowboarder! ... I've had 28 St
Paddy's days and the one I had here was easily the best!"
(Declan, 28)
"Check yourself before you wreck
yourself (Rhod - take note!). I will never forget the
boys jumping into Lake Annecy, the Arpette raclette
night or Wednesday night bowling in 1800. Off piste
riding is the best but picnics in the board park were
cool too. The chalet is well nice. I'll miss baguette
and cheese but not Apokalypse ... Cheers Tony and Steph,
stay cool and take it easy!" (Dave, 23)
"It's been great! Cheers!"
(Colin, 32)
