In addition to all the properties we have listed on
our resort pages, Planet Subzero also run a very popular
tailor-made apartment and chalet finder service. This
is aimed at people who are looking for a shorter stay
than the full season, or people who don't see what they're
looking for in our private listings.
We have apartments in the following resorts, which
are available for stays of 3 weeks to the full season.
You choose the dates and apartment size, and we'll send
you a personalised quote:
Avoriaz
Chamonix
Courchevel 1550
Meribel
Mottaret
Val d'Isere
Properties include studios (for up to 4 people)
and 1 bedroom apartments (for up to 5 people)
in each resort. 2 bedroom apartments are also
available in Chamonix and Courchevel 1550 only.
We can also help find you a chalet to rent for
the season, if you're in a big group, family and / or
looking to start your own business in the Alps. Just
let us know what you're after and we'll do our best
to help.
Click on 'how to apply', above, for more information.
Tell us which resort(s) you're interested in, and which
month(s) and we'll send you an info sheet and prices.
TOP TIPS!
If you're on a budget ... and want to get the most
time for your money, the best month to travel is January.
A 6 week stay from start Jan until mid February misses
out the expensive Christmas, New Year and Feb school
holiday weeks, while giving you quiet pistes and often
the best conditions of the season. Similarly March and
April are often fantastic, especially in higher resorts
such as Val d'Isere or Chamonix. 2 months in March &
April will give you plenty of spring snow, sunshine
and cheap prices!
If you still want to be friends at the end of the
season ... if you can afford it, we recommend not
filling apartments to maximum capacity. A studio for
4 can physically sleep 4 people, but this is a very
cosy way to live and would only recommend it for 2 or
3 on a long stay basis. Similarly, an apartment for
5 can sleep 5 people, but will mean someone on a camp
bed on floor level, plus 2 people sleeping in the living
room. If possible, try and limit it to 3 people. Alternatively,
if you're happy to be cosy and fill an apartment to
capacity, this can be a very cheap way to do a season.
If you want your stay to include February ...
please make sure you book as soon as possible. We will
find it very difficult to get properties which include
February half term weeks after September, as everything
gets booked up.
If you're on your own or just with 1 friend / partner
and find apartment prices expensive ... have a look
at our shared properties. Your initial reaction to sharing
with strangers may be 'no way!', but we do have properties
with single rooms, plus properties with plenty of privacy
if you're a couple. On the massive plus side, the chalets
we have are all much better equipped than your average
apartment, with loads of living space and perks such
as wifi internet access, sunny gardens, and open fires.
The quality of accommodation is much higher and the
price person considerably lower. Think about it! The
chalets aren't full of teenagers, and the age range
is normally early 20s through to late 30s, with the
average being late 20s/early 30s. You do need to be
relatively sociable, but the chalets aren't party houses.
You'll make friends for life, and you'd be surprised
how easy it is to get your own space when you need it.
We're happy to provide references from previous guests
if you're not sure.
If you're looking to rent your own chalet ...
we have loads of contacts with property owners and can
help you find a chalet to rent for the ski season or
on an annual basis. But please be realistic about the
costs. Depending on the resort, you will need to budget
at least £2000 per bed (including those with no-one
sleeping in them!), and also factor in the running costs
of a chalet. For example a 5 bedroom chalet in Chamonix
is likely to cost around £3000 for the season
to run in fuel, electricity and utilities. This is ontop
of the rent of around £20,000-£30,000 (depending
on the location and quality of the property). We're
happy to advise so just drop us a line with your questions
and we'll do our best to provide answers.
Our privately owned properties are run in partnership
with www.natives.co.uk,
and your rental contract will be issued directly with
the owner of each property. Key exchange and security
deposits are also arranged with the owner. Please ask
if you have any questions about a property, and don't
forget to keep checking back - the list changes all
the time!
