who will I be sharing a room with?
Obviously we will try and put couples and friends together, but who you share with ultimately depends on who signs up. We try to match people up with others of a similar age.

can I reserve my room?
Yes. You can confirm your room when you pay in full. We will give priority for the twin/double rooms to couples. Some of our rooms are different prices so just ask us about availability.

do couples have to share with other people?
Hopefully not! :o) ... Although if all the double rooms have been booked up, then maybe. We will let you know when you book if this is the case.

are the rooms mixed sex?
Generally, no (apart from couples or friends applying together). However, for last minute bookings, we may have mixed sex rooms - in which case, we will let you know.

what if I don't get on with my room mates?
You can work it out between you if you want to swap rooms during the season. We hope that everyone will get on - you're all here for the same reasons after all.

can I have my mates out to stay during the season?
Yes and No. If there are free beds, your friends can pay to stay in the chalet with you. But there is a legal limit on the number of people we can have in each property, so if it is full, we're happy to help them find an apartment near by. If you rent a private apartment through us and have spare beds in the apartment your friends can stay.

what do we get to eat in the Meribel catered option?
Breakfast (hot and cold options with tea/coffee) and 2 course evening meal. The food is healthy, filling, and varied - the kind of stuff you want to eat after a long day on the mountain ... things like lasagne, rice/pasta dishes, roasts, curry/chinese/mexican ... it's up to the chef, but guaranteed to be good.

what happens about food/cooking?
Apart from our catered option in Meribel, meals are up to you. There are well stocked supermarkets in all resorts and the properties have fully equipped kitchens. From Les Arcs, we are able to offer supermarket runs for you to do regular shops at the big supermarkets in Bourg St Maurice, if required.

can we have parties?
We're not here to stop you having fun, but our properties are peoples' homes and not designed for partying in. Lots of drunk people = noise complaints and damages! Dinner parties are fine, but bear in mind that you are collectively liable for any damage to the property at the end of the season, and must take responsibility for noise. This is particularly important in Les Arcs chalet Henry, and our chalets in Courchevel and Argentiere, where the properties are in apartment blocks, or the owners live close by.

do I need to bring bed linen?
No - bed linen is provided. You are responsible for cleaning this regularly. Towels are NOT provided! We aim to create a place to live that you're really at home in, so if you're very attached to your duvet cover, special pillow - bring it.

are heating and water bills included?
Yes. All your utility bills (water, heating and electricity) are covered.

is there a washing machine?
Not in all our the properties. See the property description for details. If not, all resorts have coin operated or service laundrettes.

is there a phone in the property?
Yes (except in some of our private apartments). You can received calls, and make free local calls. If you want to phone home, you can buy a special phone card for international calls.

are playstation games, music and videos provided?
Some play station games and videos are provided, but please bring any others, plus CD and DVDs.

is there a cleaner or do we have to do it ourselves?
You have to do it, and how you work it out is between yourselves.

do we all have our own keys?
Yes. Everyone will have their own set of keys. If you lose them you have to replace them yourself.

can the rooms be locked?
No - but the front door can be locked.

where do we keep our stuff?
Inside the chalet or locked on balconies. Bear in mind that there is limited storage space. Do not leave snowboards or skis outside the chalet or they will disappear.

can I bring a laptop?
Yes - if you have a laptop and want to bring it you will have free access to the internet while you are there.

do I need power adaptors?
Yes - if you bring any electrical appliances - stereo, hairdryer etc, you will need an English to French adaptor.

is there an internet connection?
Yes - if you have a laptop and want to bring it you will have free access to the internet while you are there.

will my gear be safe?
If you are careful with it, yes. It is your responsibility to make sure the chalet / apartment is kept locked and everyone has a set of keys. It is never wise to leave your stuff outside bars though. It may be worth buying a board lock for peace of mind.

what happens if something goes missing?
Call us. We will help you contact your insurance company and file a report at the police. You will not be able to make a claim without a police report.

what happens if something gets broken in the chalet?
Call us. The chalet owners are very understanding of accidents and probably won't charge for small things (eg broken plates) as long as you report them straight away. Ultimately you are jointly responsible for any damages so unless someone admits liability you will all share the cost of anything damaged or broken at the end of the season.

how do we get our deposit back at the end of the season?
As with a deposit on any rental property, in order to get your full deposit back, you must leave the chalet as you found it when you moved in. This means that the chalet must be spotless and anything damaged replaced or paid for. Deposit cheques will be returned in the post or direct transfer after the end of the season and the owner has checked off the property. Any charges will normally be split proportionate to your length of stay to make it fair for people not doing the full season.
