WEEKS 3 & 4
SNOW AND CHALET REPORT
Tignes
The snow's been AMAZING - which is why
we haven't had time to update the site for a bit - far
too busy in the thigh deep powder to sit in front of
the computer!
If you haven't already heard - El nino's
definitely hit town. After last week's disappointing
rain up to 2200m, it's been dumping. And dumping, and
dumping. Everywhere. And cold too. We haven't seen snow
like this for 4 years. Powder up to our thighs. WAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOO!
How cool! What a way to start the new year.
Up in Tignes, Katie's arrived to join
Col as 'Mum & Dad' - keeping tight control of goings
on and general carnage - or not - and not doing too
much cleaning up after the guys, we hope. Think we may
have a converted Planet couple on our hands ... already
talking about moving here permanently.

New Year in Tignes was spent mostly in
the Alpaka - just across the road from the Planet Subzero
apartment. Billy's been doing the guys proud, and the
fireworks on the lake were pretty cool too. Promised
Billy a plug - so check out www.alpaka.com
for the best drinking hole in Le Lac :o) We're still
waiting for further reports from New year, but think
the cocktails may have hindered communication ...
To mark the end of her 4 weeks in the
apartment, and the move to Les Arcs, Eleanor cooked
up a storm for the guys. And in spite of scurvy from
lack of vegetables (!), Mick's been having such a good
time, he's decided to stay an extra week - and he's
already planning his return in February. Good on you
- and see you soon ...

The new guys and girls, Rob and Gillian,
have fitted right in. Looking forward to a big night
out and a slide with you guys v soon. Mart - keep living
the dream, mate!

check out loads of new photos from Tignes

Chamonix
The Chamonix guys are also well settled
into their routine of riding all day every day. They're
all getting on with chilled out life in the Alps and
lots and lots of snow.
After much German, English, French translation
nightmare, Kevin's computer's finally arrived from Austria,
along with about a million tunes, and a whole bunch
of new toys to keep everyone entertained - including
the dart board.
Damian's been putting his tree surgery
skills to good use, building a death swing in the garden,
and James has been launching himself off kickers (when
not out stealing women's underwear). He's nailing 360s,
mutes and one third of a back flip already (too fast
to arse), and it's only his 5th week on skis. We're
jealous - the boy's got balls!

David and Daryl have already found an
apartment for the rest of the season, and Kev Smith
has swapped with a guy from Onboard ... looking forward
to meeting all the new guys, Kizzy, Rory and Drew, this
weekend. Good timing guys - it's dumped a metre and
just as the sun's come out.
Big Kev (Scones) and Jules, along with
James have been out with a guide already - harnesses
n everything - making the most of the fab conditions
and cruising the powder off the Grands montets glacier.
Big grins all round!
Congratulations to Sarah and Ian (the
Cham chalet owners) on the birth of Hana, who's obviously
decided she prefers the snow and arrived early, after
a cutting it fine comedy middle of the night trip to
Salanches hospital. Both mum and daughter healthy and
well.
Les Arcs
Up in Les Arcs, all the guys arrived on
the 4th Jan and are already settling into a routine
of slopes all day, Arpette at 1, Mont Blanc at 4 ...
What a time to arrive - the snow's wicked! Look out
for full weekly reports, coming v soon.
