WEEKS 5 & 6
SNOW AND CHALET REPORT
Les Arcs
Where do we even start! The Les Arcs crew
have been here for 2 weeks and it already feels like
much longer ... not in a bad way guys ... :o)
On the snow front, everyone arrived on
the 4th Jan in the middle of a massive snow storm, and
we've been making the most of lots and lots of fresh
snow ever since. With thigh deep powder and really cold
temperatures, this is pretty much as good as it gets!
Bring on El Nino. For the last few days it's been warmer
and sunny, so the pistes have been getting pretty icy
down low. But with snow on the way today or tomorrow,
definitely can't complain.
The chalet guys have been getting into
the spirit of the season, with lots of riding and lots
of drinking. Katie should be taking out shares in Malibu,
Susan's already on bottle no 5 of whisky and the 10
crates of beer from Bourg have lasted Chalet 1 all of
2 days. Excellent. We don't think this pace will last
...

Inter chalet relations are going well,
with Katie acting as Chalet 1 ambassador to keep up
talks between the 2 parties, while Susan has been concentrating
on maintaining intra chalet relationships. The rest
of the guys have turned to the playstation for solace.
In Chalet 14, the month long boys, Dave
and James have been setting the pace with stoopid drinking
games to break the ice. The dry cleaners, the Mont Blanc
and the slopes all benefitted from a respray, and James
even learnt to snowboard in the process. Olly did a
great job of painting the bathroom, and Jason definitely
got an eye-full of the Beatles.

A night out in 1800 was too messy to even
make it to the bowling alley and we can't remember too
much about it. The Mont Blanc's Wednesday night Seasonaires
night have been going down a storm, with cheap food,
cheap beer, but sadly no cheap women.
On a more serious sad note, we've already
broken one ... that'll learn ya to sledge home from
the pub, mate! Tiggy's broken arm saw a middle of the
night trip to bourg hospital ... get well soon :o) Steph's
also broken ... thumb. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Deciding
to try to learn to snowboard. Shouldn't be too long
out of action though as the doctor agreed to make a
ski-pole shaped cast for it. Definitely sticking to
2 planks from now on, though.
On the slopes, Rhi and Ricardo have been
kicking arse, keeping up with the rest of the crowd
already after a couple of lessons to get them started.
Ricardo's had to take temporary early retirement though,
owing to a severely bruised arse, as has Tony, who knackered
his trying to show off on the rails.
Rob has been leading the way, and already
improved loads on last year. Dave is speed demon supreme,
and with new boots, Jason's tele skills are coming on
leaps and bounds. The girls are keeping up, with Jo
setting the pace, hitting the rails and pulling off
some nice floaty 180s. She's also the queen of the rag
doll, after Steph led a posse down the KL offpiste run
... everyone made it down in one piece, if not in style.
Dave and James, however, are no longer talking to her
for dragging them off through the trees.

Looking forward to the return of last
year's planet crew for a week's holiday. We didn't think
this pace could possibly continue, but looks like it's
gonna have to. Look out for reports of the Huck Fest,
coming soon ...
Tignes
The Tignes guys have discovered air. They
spent 2 days building the perfect kicker, getting it
smoothed to perfection, only to have the board park
open the very next day! Gillian and Rob, the 2 new folk
have been settling in well, and the crew have been swapping
gear ... last seen, Bird man on skis (he had to have
a little rest after though).

Pete Hall is also back on 2 planks after
a little flirt with boarding ... even Daddy cool has
mentioned the s.k.i word. We'll have you converted soon
see.

Katie and Col have been playing proper
mum and dad, cooking a big sunday roast dinner for the
hungry masses, and Col's taking his job as guru to another
level. He's training them all. The all new Planet Subzero
web design school. 5 month's with us and a life time
of opportunity. Chris and James are mostly motivated
by setting up a porn site. Needless to say, thinking
up domain names has been keeping the house very amused.
Looking forward to Harris #334 - winner of The Lord
Burroughs Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
