WEEKS 9 & 10
SNOW AND CHALET REPORT

Les Arcs

The last couple of weeks have been considerably calmer than previously, as everyone's promised themselves (and their wallets) time out from the play hard, party harder madness that gripped us at the start of the season.

The snow conditions have remained superb, with tons of fresh still around for most of the last 2 weeks, and in spite of beautiful sunny days, we've had really cold air temperatures to keep the snow intact. The avalanche risk has dropped back to 3 and we've been exploring all over the mountain ... bellecote, chicken run ... both v v nice.

Unfortunately the ride hard mentality has put the injury toll back up again, with Jason, Dave and Olly all in the wars (none seriously), and Steph looking even more of a thug than usual, with a beautiful black eye to add to the broken thumb. At least they were injuries gained in style.

Rhi's mates have been keeping us entertained (as have Rhi's antics in Jimmys), and several of the planet crew have succumbed to Olly 2 and the pit of despair. Unwittingly a few have been dragged to its depths, and then spat out unceremoniously the following morning. Don't go there if you can possibly avoid it.

The Valentines day party at the blanc was a night to remember (although not by Tony), with everyone making a proper effort on the fancy dress. And Chinese in Bourg was welcome relief from the pasta and sauce/rice and sauce dilema. Don't think too many of the boys cooking skills are improving this winter.

Alison has settled in brilliantly, and her boarding has come on leaps and bounds in the last 2 weeks. Looking forward to Susannah's return in a few days ... as are all the chalet 14 boys, who can't wait for that roast dinner again.

When the madness of February school holidays calms down, we can jump in the truck for some spring road trips. Look out for reports from the Verbier ride, Chamonix Snowthrill, Cham Jam, and Les Arcs Freeride, all coming up soon. Can't wait!

All of the photos from the last few weeks have finally been put up on the site, so click here then scroll down to see more.

Tignes

Over in Tignes, the guys are also having a fab time ... latest update from Katie on the 12th Feb goes:

We are off out for Jimmy's birthday tonight - a three course meal at the Alpaka and then out and about for drinks later...

Marty is getting bored of boarding at high speed and needs a new challenge, Gillian has tried boarding and is an absolute whizz!!! Harris is an alcohoic and complains at every scratch or bump on his body! Ian entered a weetabix eating contest and lost, he is also getting razor sharp on the old wit - has us in histerics.

Thunder is back from the UK, Orm is 'seeing' Katie the nanny (I think - I may not be up to date on that one though...), Mike, is settling in, and boarding coming along - he has had one lesson and getting there slowly ...

I think that's a breif update on everyone! See you soon.
