WEEK 5
SNOW AND CHALET REPORT
Love it when a plan comes together!
This is definitely more like it.
The last week has been a hectic whirl of activity, with
everything suddenly falling into place - mainly the
snow, Scott's ollies and Declan's dislocated shoulder.

The ropey snow conditions last weekend
meant abandoning ship ... Daddy, Katie, Toby and Sarah
decided to go back the UK for a few days to catch up
with friends and family, and the 1800 boys - Nev, Dave2
and John - went for a spur of the moment trip to Amsterdam
to errrr ... check out the sights.

So for the rest of the Planet Subzero
crew, we opted for a trip to Annecy on Monday - to get
out of resort, check out the real world for a few hours,
admire the views, and have a beer and a game of football
in the sun. The joke went on all day that someone had
to go for a swim - they'd even brought their shorts
and towels - but no-one looked too inspired by February
water temperatures ... until Rhod's miscalculated kick
into the lake left the lads (Rhod, John and Scott) with
no choice - swim for it or lose the football ...

Then ... Tuesday and Wednesday saw SNOW!!!
All day and all night. Enough to cover the rocks, make
the pistes all beautiful and put BIG smiles back on
the faces of the Vallandry seasonaires. Lots of tired
grins and achey legs at Wednesday's weekly bowling session
in 1800 - didn't stop the hard core from partying on
until 6am in the Apokalypse ... Then Thursday was a
perfect bluebird day :o)

Friday was probably the highlight of the
week, with the Inaugural Naked Huck Fest taking
place at the Mont Blanc bar in Vallandry. It was an
opportunity for everyone to get together, meet all the
other people out here for the season, get pissed, have
a bbq, and chuck themselves off some jumps ... and I
think we can safely say it was a roaring success. With
50 entrants, loads more spectators, and great slopeside
tunes from DJ Chris, the turn out was fantastic. Competitors
were jumping for best overall jump, best costume, most
naked, worst crash and most original ... Click on the
link on the left full a report and more pictures from
the day.
Snow news ...
So, suddenly we're smiling again! Tuesday
and Wednesday's snow has made all the pistes soft and
fluffy, given us some powder to play in, and put the
grins back on our faces. We've been tracking out all
the best off piste runs, including yesterday's 2 hour
powder route from the top of the Aiguille Rouge ...
there was another dusting of snow last night (Saturday),
and it's supposed to dump some more today or tomorrow.
Could still use some more of the white stuff so keeping
the fingers firmly crossed
