WEEK 7
SNOW AND CHALET REPORT

Snow snow snow snow SNOW ... and red bull

It's SNOWING SNOWING SNOWING! Not quelque flocons, but proper all day and all night dumping for 3 days. Close on a metre at 1800m and lots more up top. And supposedly another metre to come in the next week. Nice! Bring on the heliskiing!

Powder is good, powder is fluffy, powder makes the world go round. We love it! We've finally been hitting all the places in resort that you look at and think - maybe (when there's snow). Everyone's stoked with how their riding's coming on now the conditions are so good. Confidence is up, adrenalin's flowing, this is what it's about. Love it, love it, love it.

Jess is ripping it up on her new fat board, and has really warmed to the idea of jumping off things (now the landings are so soft). Look out for photos of her launching herself off 15ft cliffs!

Katie's back out on her board now, and with only a week left in resort, John is busy burning the candle - cramming in full days on the mountain and full nights in the bars.

From Wednesday to Saturday, we've been on a crazy 4 day road trip up to Chamonix for the Red Bull Snow Thrill - which proved to be a spectacular display of the world's best freeride skiers throwing themselves off huge cliffs ... click here for full report from the event.

... The only down side of this week has been Rhod's impressive prize for best injury. Not one for doing things in small measures, he's managed to fracture his eyesocket and cheek bone in three places (kneeing himself in the face when he hit a compression too hard on his board). Looking only slightly scary, but still on his usual positive form, he is in hospital for a couple of days and will be back with us in resort very soon. Everyone's thinking of you!

Snow news ...

Doesn't need much more than to say AT LAST! We have proper snow. Deep, fluffy powder to play in, and more on the way. So the rumour I heard a month ago that all the locals were predicting 2 solid weeks of snow at the end of February looks like it's going to come true.

Let's hope that the other rumour we heard that it was going to snow all of March and April proves to be as accurate (not that we're getting greedy or anything!)
