All you'll need in addition to the cost of your season is daily pocket money, enough to buy your lift pass at the start of the season, and your transport out to resort and travel insurance.

>>> Return transport to resort (Bourg or Chamonix) £100 based on return easyjet.com flight to Lyon plus sncf.fr train to Bourg St Maurice or return flight to Geneva plus bus to Chamonix.

>>> Full season Lift pass: £320-£500. The Paradiski season pass in Les Arcs is around £500, or a Les Arcs only pass is about £380. A full Espace Killy pass in Tignes is about £500 and the Chamonix valley pass is about £420.

>>> Total food and drink spend: £1600 based on £100 a week x 16 weeks. We can't really pinpoint this one - it's totally up to you how much you think you'll spend. Bear in mind that supermarket shopping (including booze) tends to be cheaper in France than the UK, but bars are more expensive. And if you get yourself a part time job in resort, you can pretty much cut this expense out as your wages should cover your food and drink money.

>>> Trips to other resorts: £150 based on average trip (eg day trip to Val D'Isere) - shared transport (£10) plus spending money (£15). Six trips during season.

>>> Ski Travel Insurance for full season: £130 based on quote from www.ski-insurance.co.uk
