Planet Subzero is more about riding than working - if
you want to get the most out of your season, you'll
want maximum time on the mountain - which probably means
not spending your days working. With Planet Subzero
you'll definitely be in the best position to get first
tracks, every time. And we've kept our prices very affordable
so you can reasonably expect to be able to save for
a work-free season.
Part time work:
If you're looking for part time work in any of our
resorts to make some additional pocket money, you should
be able to pick up bits and pieces around resort.
One good bet is transfer repping - reps for the big
tour companies often need help on Saturdays and Sundays
with their coaches and you'll make about £50 for
one day. There is also usually work going with local
companies during busy periods - helping out with dish
washing, cleaning, babysitting or clearing snow. There
may also be other money to be made if you're enterprising
- if you have talent as a photographer or hairdresser
for example, or if you have your own car and want to
earn a few euros giving people lifts.
Ask around - the mountain community is very close-knit
and if you speak to one person, chances are if they
can't help you, they'll know someone who can. You won't
need fluent French, but it may well help if you can
speak a few words.
Full time work:
Opportunities are limited for full time work through
Planet Subzero, unless you're lucky and someone drops
out of a job nearby, leaving a vacancy. Mid January
is the best time to be asking as that's when people
are most likely to leave or get sacked!
If you're looking for permanent work for the season,
have a look at www.natives.co.uk
- the Season Workers' Website. They have info on all
the best jobs in the Alps and should be able to help.
